AUTHOR’S NOTE

This book was written from the intersection of two identities: the clinician who has spent years supporting others through their healing, and the survivor who has walked that path herself. I chose to share my personal case study not to center my story, but to model the courage, honesty, and self-inquiry that trauma work requires.

The Wheel of Intergenerational Neglect Vector emerged from my own process of mapping the patterns that shaped my life. Over time, it became a tool I used with clients to make the invisible visible. I hope it serves you in the same way: as a guide, a mirror, and a framework for understanding the roots of your own experiences, or those of the people you support.

This book is not meant to be read in a single sitting. Healing is not linear, and neither is this text. Move at your own pace. Skip ahead when something calls to you. Return to sections that resonate. Use the journaling prompts as invitations rather than assignments.

Above all, I hope this work reminds you that transformation is possible. That the patterns we inherit do not have to become the patterns we pass on. And that your story, no matter where it begins, can be rewritten with intention, compassion, and agency.
